Explain how social contexts influence television programmes. Refer to Cuffs from the 2010’s to support your answer. (10 marks)
The influence of the rise in drug misuse occurring in Brighton in the 2010's is represented as a social issue in television programmes such as 'cuffs'. This is evident when a male character at the beginning of the programme called Nathan is arrested for illegally using drugs in his home. In the 2010's drug misuse was increasing and this social issue highlights to a pre-watershed mainstream audience the increasing crime rate and further demonstrates the consequences of breaking the law.
The increase in kidnapping in Brighton is represented as a social issue in television programmes such as 'cuffs'. This is made clear when a male character kidnapped a young female girl from a school. This social issue shows to a pre watershed audience the increase in danger in society and the risk of breaking the law.

As the marking criteria states - explain how social contexts can influence television programmes by giving either a detailed description of one context with a sophisticated explanation of how it influences programmes with reference to 'Cuffs', or an effective description of a number of social contexts with an explanation of their influence on programmes.
What your response lacks (more specifically in the second paragraph) is an explanation of the influence.
